Popular Beauty Treatments

By: Daniel Blinman

There are different types of beauty treatments that are available for people of both sexes. Some of the beauty treatments that were considered as a luxury a few years back like the manicure and pedicure, have become a virtual necessary to young girls of this generation. A manicure is concerned with maintaining the hands and the finger nails. A pedicure is a treatment that focuses mainly on the feet and its surrounding areas.

These days, both men and women of different age groups go to the beauty clinic in their local area at least once a week. As a part of this visit, they will undergo a facial treatment that will completely transform the look of their face. Facials have become increasingly popular over the last 10 years. In this treatment, the customer gets their face scrubbed or cleaned. In scrubbing, a cream is applied over the face and is allowed to remain on the face for some time. After the cream has dried on the face, plain water or rose water is used to completely scrub the dried cream. This will give a fresh look to the customers. Other than scrubbing creams, there are other facial creams such as herbal creams which are applied on the face and then washed away.
Men give more priority to their receding hair line. Some men, who have become partially bald, opt for hair replacement procedures or therapies. In this treatment a new set of hair follicles are inserted in the areas where the baldness is present. Over a period of time these active follicles grow new hair. In terms of complete baldness, hair weaving methodology is also employed to implant new hair directly on the bald area.

Another popular beauty treatment that has become popular among slightly older people is the Botox treatment. This treatment is taken to get rid of the wrinkles that appear near the lips and also in the fore head. By getting rid of these wrinkles, people in the age group of 60 to 70 years get a complete makeover. They lose all their wrinkles, sagging neck and look younger. In this treatment, Botox is injected directly in to the area where the wrinkles are present.

Medical spas have also grown by leaps and bounds over the last 5 years. In addition to treatment like Botox, these spas also provide body rejuvenating massages such as Ayurvedic massages. As a part of this treatment, heated herbal oil is applied over the parts of the body which has been stressed. The herbal oil, containing a mixture of mountain herbs, relieves the stresses and makes the skin more supple.
