Discover Post Summer Interest In Herbal Skin Care

Ever wonder as this summer's sun bathers put their swimsuits away for the winter, they often take a second look at their exceedingly dry skin? Exposure to high temperatures, sunlight and salty ocean spray can accelerate the rate at which skin looses some of its natural moisture. That dry skin then calls attention to problems that would seem to benefit from herbal treatment for the skin.

Of course, ardent beachgoers are not the only group of people who have had reason to consider the possible benefits of herbal skin care. Office workers, who get hit with the gusts from an air conditioner, might also take a second look at herbal treatment for the skin. Home dwellers, who enjoy the luxury of a backyard pool, often find that the end of summer, a summer spent in chorine-treated waters, leads to reflection about the hypothetical benefits of herbal skin care.

Is the online information about herbal skin remedies more than a hypothesis? Let's look at what some skin experts have to say about an effective treatment for dry skin. Karen Asquith has shared with Internet viewers some of the advice that she has given to users of the G.M. Collin skin care products in Paris.

Ms. Asquith has underlined the degree to which an imbalance within the skin can cause the skin to become drier. As one group of chemicals in the skin makes-up an ever larger percentage of the skin's biochemical components, the skin begins to look and feel rough and inflamed. Ms Asquith has not recommended that use of herbal products by those who suffer from such dry skin.

In fact, Ms. Asquith would seem to support the claims of another skin care expert, one who writes for WebMD. That expert has indicated that harsh skin treatment could damage the skin, and would thus fail to facilitate a healing of the skin. That expert has warned against the use of certain body scrubs, in addition to a group of herbal rubs.

Herbal rubs are often incorporated into a plan for herbal skin care. It thus appears that knowledgeable skin care experts have cautioned the public against reliance on the typical herbal treatment for the skin. What skin care products should be of benefit to someone who suffers from dry skin?

Think how skin appears when it becomes dry and flaky. Does it appear strong and firm? No, it does not. An effective treatment for dry skin is one that can help skin to become strong and firm. An effective treatment stimulates the skin to produce a generous amount of collagen.

What is collagen? Collagen is a protein. The long chains of amino acids in the collagen protein cause it to have a fiber-like nature. Like a tight rope, skin containing an adequate amount of collagen feels strong and firm.

About twelve years ago, one technician had dry, chapped hands. She was searching in the drug store for an effective skin care product. She chose one that promised to stimulate the production of collagen. As a technician in a biomedical lab, that woman understood the degree to which increased production of collagen could aid cell growth.

She knew that the production of collagen should leave her skin feeling strong and firm. She trusted such a product to do away with any of problems associated with over-dry skin.

She chose not to purchase any of the herbal products on the shelf. She knew that she fed her cultured cells collagen, and it was not any type of herbal skin care over the counter.

Avoid a summer beauty crisis by properly preparing skin for the warm weather. Summer skin care dilemmas are two-fold - increased dryness due to water loss, wind and sun, as well as increased oil production from outdoor sports and heat. Preparing the face and body for increased outdoor exposure will aid in preventing an onslaught of summer skin dilemmas.
