How To Help Your Oily Skin

If you are finding that you are suffering from oily then you can visit your local pharmacy or chemist and you will be inundated with a range of products that are designed to help your skin condition. But what you need to be aware of is the fact that most of the products that are available for oily skin are actually more damaging. But there are many other products that are available to help as well as using your own home based treatments.

The reason why a lot of the products that are available in the stores or chemists are chemical based and they contain cheap filler ingredients such as alcohol, scents and even petroleum. Most of the ingredients are added to make the products smell nice, but the reason that harmful ingredients are added is simply because they are cheap to produce. But they have some short term effect as many of the products have a drying effect on the skin, and they do more harm than good because they not only remove excess oils but also remove any other protective oils that the skin needs.

If your skin becomes too dry then there is the chance that the skin can become cracked and even start to peel away. The glands within the skin will then work even harder in making sure that the skin is kept lubricated and therefore more oils will be released onto the surface of the skin. So you are in a vicious circle where you have oily skin to begin with, you then use products that cause the skin to become dry and as a result the skin produces even more oils and so you have a face that is even oilier than before.

The solution that presents itself is to simply stop using these products and to go on the Internet and to find products that are natural and organic based. Also make sure that the products come with some kind of guarantee, because you do not want to be spending your money only to be disappointed by the results.

If you are selecting the use of organic skin care products then you should make sure that the products have the authentication from a third party and that the entire product is organic not just a few organic ingredients here and there. For a product to be classed as organic at least fifty percent of the ingredients need to be of a natural source, but if you look hard enough you will be able to find products that have a much higher percentage.

Whilst there are a range of products that are available for oily skin you may also want to try making your own products, such as using lemon juice which helps the skin heal and it also helps the skin to reduce the amount of oils that the skin produces. As well as this the lemon juice will also help to fight off any infection and oily skin can be prone to the development of spots and acne on a more frequent basis compared to other skin types.
